Overview

About Sealed Concrete

Sealing is the simplest, most cost-effective way to protect a concrete slab. The right sealer blocks moisture from penetrating, rejects oil and stains, slows down freeze-thaw damage, and dramatically extends slab life — at a fraction of the cost of a full coating system.

We offer two main families: penetrating sealers (silanes, siloxanes) that soak into the concrete and react chemically without changing the appearance — perfect for exterior patios, driveways, and slabs you want to keep looking natural — and topical sealers (acrylics, urethanes) that build a thin film on top, enhance color, and add a satin or gloss finish.

For Greater Atlanta homeowners with a stamped or decorative concrete patio, a topical wet-look acrylic sealer brings out the color and pattern dramatically. For driveways and exterior slabs that need to look natural and resist chloride intrusion from de-icers, a penetrating siloxane is the right call.

Our Process

How We Install Sealed Concrete

01

Surface Cleaning

Pressure wash or chemical clean to remove dirt, efflorescence, oils, and any failing coating.

02

Repair & Etch

Crack repair as needed; light acid etch or grind to open the surface profile for the sealer.

03

Sealer Application

Penetrating or topical sealer applied at manufacturer-spec wet film thickness — sprayed, rolled, or both.

04

Second Coat

Most topical sealers get a second coat for full film build. Penetrating sealers usually require only one application.

05

Cure

Most sealers are walk-on within hours; full chemical cure ranges from 24 hours to 7 days depending on product.

FAQs

Sealed Concrete Questions

How often does concrete need to be re-sealed?
Penetrating sealers typically last 5–10 years. Topical sealers on patios and driveways usually need recoating every 2–4 years depending on sun and traffic. We can match what was originally applied or upgrade to a longer-life system.
Will sealing change the color of my concrete?
Penetrating sealers leave the appearance unchanged. Topical sealers darken the concrete slightly and add sheen — a "wet look" satin or gloss that brings out color and pattern. We apply a sample patch so you can see the effect before committing.
Can sealing fix a leaking basement floor?
A topical sealer alone won't stop active hydrostatic pressure. For damp or leaking basements, we install a moisture-vapor barrier primer plus a coating system designed for negative-side moisture. Sealing alone is for slabs that are already dry.
