Polished Concrete in Atlanta, GA

Mechanically ground, densified, and refined — your existing slab transformed into a low-maintenance, ultra-durable finish for showrooms, lofts, retail, and warehouses.

Overview

About Polished Concrete

Polished concrete isn't a coating — it's the slab itself, refined. Industrial planetary grinders work through progressively finer diamond abrasives, a lithium silicate densifier chemically hardens the surface, and stain protectants seal it. The result is the floor that's already in your building, made beautiful and tougher than it was the day it was poured.

Because there's no coating to peel, chip, or delaminate, polished concrete has the lowest lifetime maintenance cost of any floor system. A periodic burnish every few years is all most floors need. It's why Greater Atlanta retailers, restaurants, showrooms, distribution centers, and lofts gravitate to it.

We offer satin (low-sheen, soft look), semi-polished (mid-gloss, the most popular finish), and high-polish (mirror finish that dramatizes light). All three include densification and stain protection — the difference is the final grit level we polish to.

Our Process

How We Install Polished Concrete

01

Initial Grind

Coarse metal-bond diamonds remove the cream layer, expose the desired aggregate (cream, salt-and-pepper, or full aggregate).

02

Densification

Lithium silicate densifier reacts with calcium hydroxide in the slab to produce calcium silicate hydrate — chemically hardening the surface.

03

Honing

Resin-bond diamonds in progressive grits (50, 100, 200) refine the surface. This stage controls the final reflectivity.

04

Polishing

Higher resin grits (400, 800, 1500, 3000) bring the floor to satin, semi-polished, or high-polish finish.

05

Stain Protection

Penetrating stain guard rejects oils, water, and most beverages without changing appearance.

FAQs

Polished Concrete Questions

How much aggregate will show in my polished floor?
You choose. Cream finish keeps the cement paste on top — most uniform look. Salt-and-pepper exposes small aggregate fragments — most popular for retail. Full aggregate grinds down further to expose stones — dramatic, often for high-end showrooms. We test sample patches on your slab before committing to the level.
Does polished concrete need to be sealed?
Not in the traditional sense. The lithium silicate densifier reacts inside the slab to chemically harden it, and a penetrating stain guard rejects spills without forming a film. There's no coating to wear off — the floor itself is the finish.
Can any concrete slab be polished?
Most can, but slab condition matters. Hard-troweled, low-porosity slabs polish beautifully. Soft, dusty, or heavily damaged slabs may need a self-leveling overlay first. We test for hardness and porosity before quoting so the result is predictable.
